Anna Maria Island

The town of Bradenton Beach is best accessed by the southern bridge to the island. Its beaches are known for warm, emerald ocean water and scenic driftwood. Parking at either Cortez Beach or Coquina Beach, under the pines, is free and directly adjacent to the beach. You can watch the fishing vessels return to port in the afternoon with their daily catch. Here, at the southern end of the island, you will be offered a colorful nightlife, with live music, fresh seafood, and a daquari bar that overlooks the beach at sunset.

Beach volleyball courts, all-you-can-eat pancakes, and a daily sunset celebration on the beach with live music and dancing are just a few of the reasons you’ll want to visit Manatee Public Beach in the town of Holmes Beach. The northern bridge from the mainland brings you to this town, which is conveniently located in the center of the island. You can enjoy picnic tables and charcoal grills under the pines and a there’s even a tiki bar for afternoon happy hour. A day in Holmes Beach is a dreamy island escape.

In the north-end town of Anna Maria, you’ll find a shopper’s dream in the friendly boutiques on Pine Avenue. If fishing is more your style, you’re going to love fishing from Anna Maria’s piers after enjoying a hearty breakfast at the pier restaurants. For the best sunsets on the island, visit Bean Point Beach at the north tip of the island where you can watch dolphins playing in the Tampa Bay, while celebrating the conclusion of another beautiful day in paradise.
